K&K Pure XLR Preamp

The K&K Pure XLR Preamp is a compact, low-noise external preamp and active DI built for the Pure pickup line, and equally at home with other piezo and passive magnetic pickups. It takes the same quiet circuit as the Pure Preamp and adds a balanced XLR output and a phase switch, so you can go straight to a PA without a separate DI box.

Handcrafted in the USA, it is sized for a belt clip and built for live acoustic work: clear, full, and free of the thin, quacky character that shows up when a high-impedance pickup is plugged into a low-impedance input.

What it does on stage

• Balanced XLR DI out and a 1/4" line out can run at the same time. Send the XLR to the board and use the 1/4" as a stage monitor feed or tuner out.
• Phase switch corrects the hollow, fighting tone that happens when the amplified signal is out of phase with the guitar’s own acoustic sound. Flip it once, keep the fuller setting, then shape tone with EQ.
• Adjustable input gain lets you match the level of a Pure Mini, another piezo, or a magnetic pickup instead of living with a fixed boost.
• Three-band EQ with a super-wide mid: bass at 100 Hz, mid at 1.5 kHz, treble at 10 kHz, each ±20 dB. The wide mid is particularly useful for taking the edge off Pure Mini and 12-string installations without carving a hole in the tone.
• Phantom power (12–48 V) or a 9-volt battery. An LED shows when phantom is present. The battery is not drained as long as phantom supplies more than 10 volts.

Specs

• Input: 1/4", 1 MΩ

Best paired with a K&K Pure Mini or other Pure pickup when you want a clean, balanced feed to a house system, with phase and EQ under your own control.
