The Cirrus CJ-45 is a slope-shouldered jumbo built in the Gibson J-45 tradition, handmade in the USA by Mike Franks and the Cirrus team. This version pairs a responsive Adirondack spruce top with Honduran Mahogany back, sides, and mahogany neck, delivering the classic combination of articulate clarity and warm, fundamental tone that made the wartime slope-D shape so enduring.

The short scale (paired with a 1¾" bone nut and 2 3/16" string spacing at the saddle) keeps tension comfortable while the full, vintage-style C-shaped neck provides a solid, substantial feel under the hand. Hand-scalloped Adirondack bracing and a lightweight, responsive build give the guitar strong volume and presence without feeling stiff or overbuilt. The result is a balanced, dynamic voice with good bass thump, clear mids, and sparkling treble—well suited to flatpicking, strums, and fingerstyle work in the studio or on stage.

Traditional appointments include an ebony fingerboard with pearl dots, rosewood bridge, open-gear tuners, and a smooth satin nitrocellulose finish. The slope-shouldered body sits comfortably and projects with the authority expected from a jumbo, while the American-made construction and premium tonewoods keep it in a highly competitive price range for a handcrafted instrument.

International Orders: Contact us to make a purchase for international delivery. All international orders must be pre-paid via non-revocable funds and clear before shipping- there are no exceptions. A shipping quote will be provided prior to purchase.

Returns: 

Web orders- returns accepted within 5 days of delivery for new products and a refund is issued minus the cost of return shipping or a customer may ship back at own expense for a full refund.

In-Person purchases- returns are accepted within 5 days of purchase for new products.

Show Returns- For purchases made at shows, expo's, or meets, the return period for new items expires at the conclusion of the show's scheduled hours and dates. 

Used and demo items are sold as described and may not be returned unless they arrive materially different than described. In-person purchases of used items are sold As-Is.

All returns must be in original packaging and in original, unused condition. Damages and signs of use will be assessed and charged against a refund if found. 

Shipping damage- If products are damaged during shipping, it must be reported to us within 24 hours of receipt. All packaging must be retained until a damage claim is complete.
